Alex's hair had been getting rather shaggy lately, so last week I brought him to my sister's house so she could trim it. To save time, she was just going to use the electric clippers on the longest setting (so he'd at least HAVE some hair left at the end) and, knowing how expressive Alex's face can be during these events, I sat there and took pictures through the whole thing.
If you're interested, here's how it went....
Here he is, Mr. Shaggy and Unkempt But Still Smiling:
And then my sister begins the torture (Alex is trying to remain cheerful, but it's not working).
"Oh please let me survive this and I'll be nice to Julia! Most of the time!"
Unfortunately, that length attachment wasn't working right, so she had to switch to another one. They were clogged or the blades were dull or something...
And though she changed the attachments several times, they just weren't cutting. They were pulling, and it hurt.
He still managed to look movie-star-ish in between attachments...
Until he realized it wasn't over yet.
You can't be serious...
OW!
OW!
OW!
"Can I go now?"
'Fraid not, kiddo. Eventually, the clippers were put away and my sister got her scissors out.
"What more can they do to me?" (okay, I borrowed that line from elsewhere.)
And despite the fact that my sister wasn't pulling his hair (with the clippers) any more, somehow he made it look like she had increased the pain...
"Oh please let me survive this ordeal!"
(hahahahaha - I love the one above)
Almost finished...
"I'm outta here!"
And then it was Julia's turn. She just needed her bangs trimmed - nothing as traumatic as what Alex apparently endured.
She sat patiently...a hint of a smile playing about her mouth...
"I love you, Auntie!"
"I'm going to look like a Princess!"
"All that's left to do is brush away the hair from my face and I'll be all done!"
"Ta-da!"
