I'm so sick of sanding...

that it occurred to me just now that it would be so much better to leave the wall surfaces bumpy, and add in some fake rocks, and give each kid a climbing wall to play on. Or maybe four of them. Each.

We took the paper off our stairwell, and just couldn't face the hassle of re-papering it so Bob just painted over the rather rough plaster. He filled and sanded quite a lot of it, but, like you, just had it up to ^^^here^^^ in the end.

We decided that designer style shabby chic includes rough plaster :)

Actually when Bill got home from work today I basically greeted with a toned-down version of "Have you ever sanded plaster?" - all ready to launch into what a hideous pain in the...elbow...it was...and then he said "You don't sand plaster." Big agonized pause. "Well that would explain why it was so difficult." It would, however, have been nice if he'd mentioned that yesterday. Before I got all ambitious.
