I was making several batches of bread today, and I think I was getting ready to dump some risen dough out of the bowl and onto the counter so I could divide it up and shape it into loaves.
there was a bit of dough stretched up and stuck to the edge of the bowl. Bill walked by and glanced at it, the stringy bit of dough, and said "Hm. Gluteny."
"Huh?" I asked. I'm eloquent like that.
"I said it's gluteny," he told me, and then went outside to change the tires on his bike.
Gluteny.
Is that even a word?
Gluteny. Of course there's gluten...glutenous...but is gluteny a real adjective? Hmm...
Interesting question.
I didn't look up the answer or anything, though.
No, instead, a silly little part of my brain kept turning the word over and over, looking at it, listening to it...
And then I took this picture...laughing delightedly to myself.
What is it? It's a bit of stretched dough on some paper towel.
I call it...
are you ready to groan?
I call it...
"Gluteny on the Bounty."
Get it?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, sometimes I just crack myself up.
Hahahaha! Okay, I did groan at first, but definitely developed into a chuckle.

Girl... you need to get out of that kitchen! You haven't gotten all the plaster dust out of your head yet. Take a break!
That was a good one! I may never look at bread dough again without thinking of this.

Hahahahahaha. I'm picturing you snapping photos of Gluteny on the Bounty, just laughing to yourself. Hahahahaha.
"Would you like to meet my new friend Gluteny?"

hahahahahahah - I still laugh about it. And yeah, I was laughing to myself. And thinking, this is a sign of insanity, isn't it?
