The last time Natalie was here (not this most recent time, but the time before that), she’d found a few recipes she wanted to try, but either we didn’t have enough time or I didn’t have all the right ingredients.
Anyway, when plans were in the works to have a weekend of baking recently, Natalie asked if we could make brownies.
So we did.
We made Brrrrrrownies – another to-die-for recipe by Dorie Greenspan, from her book Baking: From My Home to Yours.
I didn’t take a lot of process photos. It’s one thing when I’m the one doing all the mixing and I stop to take pictures. I figure I get rather annoying if I keep taking pictures of what Natalie’s doing.
But I did take this lovely shot of butter:
I thought the thin little curl of butter was cute.
And here are two packages of peppermint patties, all cut up. (We doubled the recipe, of course.)
Brownies + York Peppermint Patties = me wondering if Natalie would really notice if the brownies “accidentally” got left behind when I took her home. Never fear – Natalie took home most of them. I try to be a good aunt.
And I have to try just as hard as I can when there’s brownies for the taking.
I took a look at the Tuesdays with Dorie site, hoping this was a recipe they’d chosen at some point after I left last April. I’m delighted to let you know that Karen of Welcome to our Crazy Blessed Life has the Brrrrrownie recipe here.
If you like mint, and you like chocolate…well, you’ve probably already clicked on that link and I’m talking to air.
Thanks for the link! :) I noticed a bunch of hits from your site today. Your brownies look fantastic!

I have informed my husband that we are definitely making these for our New Year's Eve party!
