Well, the weekend got away from me. Broke the leash and took off down the road, and I spent a lot of time chasing after it.
Today is Monday, and while my husband wasn’t ecstatic about heading off to work in the freezing cold (well, from the house to the freezing cold and into the warmed car interior), I’m glad we’re back to the more structured part of the week.
I’ve got lots of cookie dough in the fridge that needs to be rolled out, cut, and baked, so that will be a big part of today. I’ve also got loads of laundry to catch up on, so there’s another big part. Fortunately, I can do both at the same time, sort of, and I love successful multi-tasking.
Bill got our tree yesterday, as you may have figured out from a few of the pictures in last night’s post, and we were going to put the ornaments on, but by the time we finished dinner, it was getting late and we’d either have to rush or only do about half the ornaments, so we’re doing that tonight.
While my niece, Natalie, was here this weekend, we did a lot of baking, and the kids did a lot of cookie decorating, which is always fun.
We’ve still got frosting left over, so it’s quite possible I might bake off the rest of this cookie dough and do some decorating of my own. If I have time. If not today, then definitely tomorrow.
I’ve also got a couple of food posts to put up, including a really yummy biscotti recipe.
But for now? Time to do last night’s dinner dishes. And get ready for my day.
How is your holiday baking (if you are the baker in the family) going?
