I’m currently obsessed with making little zippered bags. I made four yesterday. Three today. These are the three.
They’re lined bags, and the zippers are salvaged from pants the kids have outgrown.
This one also includes my first attempt at making gussets. I need more practice.
Gussets, in case you are unfamiliar with the term, are the cross-wise stitching that makes a flat bottom on a bag. Not sure that I really need gussets on such a small pouch, but what can I say…I’m a bit obsessed at the moment.
Last, a picture of the most recent pouch/bag, both sides. One side is denim with an organza pocket, the other is water-themed cotton.
I added a little glass bead zipper pull, and I stitched and knotted some more organza at the end of the zipper.
I like the contrast in fabrics – the denim and organza especially.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve been doing.
I’ve also been working on Julia’s Halloween costume, but you don’t get to see that yet.
Soon, though. Soon.
