This morning when I opened the bedroom door I was greeted by a white and gray cat who meowed cheerfully at me before brushing past my legs to inspect the premises.
I was so surprised I knocked on the bathroom door and hissed at Bill to open the door. He came out, brushing his teeth, and I pointed delightedly at Scratchy, who was meandering around the laundry baskets.
“He hasn’t done this in so long!” I said happily.
It’s a good sign.
Later this morning, Alex called downstairs, “Mom! Scratchy came into my room!”
Every time Scratchy did anything it was announced loudly by whichever child witnessed the resurgence of his old self behavior.
Scratchy hopped up onto Alex’s bed and Alex yelled for me to come and see.
I brought my camera. Of course.
He’s still not alllllll better yet, of course.
But this is definite progress.
I'm so happy for all of you! They may not be able to tell you what's ailing them but they can certainly let you know when they feel better!
